Now that the weather is starting to warm up, it is time to start thinking about turning on your air conditioner. We have some tips on how to make sure your air conditioner is in good working order and to check and see if you need air conditioning repair at your Minneapolis/St Paul Metro home before the dog days of summer are upon us.
On the first 70+-degree day (or the first 70+-degree day when you have time to do this!), start up your air conditioner to make sure that cool air is coming out of the registers. The normal air temperature of air coming out of the AC unit should be about 15 degrees to 20 degrees cooler than room temperature. If you are feeling warm air coming from the registers, there are a few things you can do before you call us for air conditioning repair.
First, check to see that all of the air conditioner’s filters are clean. Then make sure the outdoor condenser is running. Also, you should see if the blower on your fan coil (your furnace) is operating properly.
If you have checked all of these and your air conditioner still is not cooling your home, it is time to call us here at Prescription Heating & Cooling for air conditioning repair. And you want to be sure you check your air conditioner and call us sooner rather than later! This way, you will be placed on our air conditioning repair schedule as soon as possible, so you don’t have to go too long without air conditioning, especially as the outdoor air temperatures begin to climb as we head from spring into summer.
So after you have checked all of these components of your air conditioner and if it is still not working, call us here at Prescription Heating & Cooling for air conditioning repair at 651-767-2737 or Contact Us. Or you can get a Free Estimate on New Installations.
